Only 15 more days until christmas! Wow, this year has flown by. 7 of the 12 months feel like they happened in a matter of weeks. And as I get older and am starting my career (which still hasn't hit me yet, I don't think), time is slipping through my fingers. 7 days are only hours long, weeks are a day long, and months are only like two weeks long. Does anyone else feel the same, or is it just me?
Well my 18th year hasn't been so great. I've made a lot of mistakes that I wish I could take back and just keep the knowledge/realization those mistakes have brought me.
But a lot of good and fun things have happened too, and that list is long.
One of the things I've come to realize is just how much the Lord has blessed me. I have the best friends in the world, ones I couldn't live without, and I love them more than they can know. I love my family, even with all their dysfunctions and the many mistakes they made this year too. I have learned a lot of things from them. I just pray and hope that I won't make those mistakes :)
I miss my relatives. At christmas, it'll be two whole years since I've seen some of them. I miss my cali friends too.
I know it might be a bit early, but I've already been making my new years resolution list and let me tell you - there's like 10 things on it. I'll probably post it as it gets closer to New Year's.
It's been about 8 weeks that I've been working at Massage Envy, even though it only feels like 2 weeks.
But I'm at work and have a client now, so I might post later or edit this post .. or something

Only a few more weeks until christmas!
Happy 24th birthday, big brother!!
Well, I'm here at work and there are currently 3 scheduled clients and they're not for a while yet. So I'm bored! I get off at 4, and Elizabeth wants to go to Kohl's later cause they have a big sale. So if I get anything super cute that isn't a christmas gift, I'll take a picture and put it on here.
A little Christmas survey!
Egg nog or hot chocolate?
Uhm, I'd have to go with hot chocolate. Egg nog I can only take one sip and I'm done with it lol. And I have to space out my hot chocolate fixes or they become gross.
Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree?
If he just let them sit there, everyone would know what they were getting or what other people would get and that's just not as fun. I wrap my own presents and I must admit - I'm a very bad gift-wrapper. Getting better slowly, but still messly lol.
Colored lights on tree/house or white?
Both. We have a plastic (eh) tree that comes with white lights and we put colored on it. Our house is in the middle of nowhere, so I don't really see the point in putting lights outside. Or at least a bunch of lights. Maybe one on the tree next to the house or something. I'm not sure where my dad put most of our lights went, there are some outside on the fence, but no one can see those so.
Do you hang mistletoe?
Nope we never have.
When do you put your decorations up?
It depends. Over the years it's closer to christmas cause my family isn't into the holiday cheer or something. But this year, we (I) put up the tree two days after thanksgiving and we're slowly decorating the house. Not quite done, we still have a ton of ornaments to put on the tree and more lights to put up inside/outside.
Favorite holiday memory as a child?
Uhm I kind of don't remember my childhood? haha. But I liked the whole family driving around looking at christmas lights. I remember this one house that was kinda weird, they had the Flinstones and Snoopy and other characters in their yard. Their house was huge, though, I always wanted to go look inside.
When and how did you learn the truth about Santa?
I never believed in Santa.
How do you decorate your Christmas tree?
With lights and tons of old and new ornaments.
Snow! Love it or dread it?
Eh . . It's fun at first . . but then it gets old lol. I'm not really a fan of driving in it. The dry stuff, sure, but the wet and icy and slushy not so much. I was ready for it when it snowed this year. I just hope it doesn't last as long, I felt like we didn't get spring last year.
Do you remember your favorite gift?
Oh goodness. I don't think I've gotten a gift that was like "oh my gosh, this is AMAZING!!", but they've all been great. That might change this year, I hear! lol So I'll let you know. I'm super excited for christmas.
What’s the most important thing about the holidays for you?
Christmas is all about Christ's birth, and it reminds me of all the wonders He has blessed me with.
What is your favorite holiday dessert?
Hot apple pie with vanilla icecream.
What is your favorite holiday tradition?
Well we USED to drive up to my grandparents christmas eve and get there at like . . 7pm, say hi to everyone, put our stockings on the knobs on the wall, and go to sleep. Christmas morning we'd have breakfast, open our stockings in our pjs, and then whoever wanted to would go to the christmas service at my grandparent's church and then open our presents later that night after dinner. But that hasn't happened since '06. Last year was fun, we went to the Horner's.
What tops your tree?
Currently nothing. Usually a star or some angel-looking thing.
Which do you prefer, giving or receiving?
Giving is fun, I love seeing their face light up or they start laughing or get super excited. Receiving is fun too :)
What is your favorite Christmas song?
O Holy Night. I like a lot of the hynm ones and a lot of the other ones too, but that one is my ultimate favorite.
Candy canes?
Yes! They're yummy. I like to suck on the ends, makes them last longer.
Favorite Christmas movie?
The Grinch, Polar Express, The Holiday, and that old one . . the title is something like 47th street.
